Where did my little boy go?!?!?! This is H on his first and last day of school. It's taken by the same door. Can you tell how he's grown in the last two years?! He really was little at one time, huh?
Ms. Stacey is so wonderful!! She loves Hayden and he loves her. We were so lucky to have found such a great little school for Hayden to learn. Stacey teaches right out of her home and it is in our neighborhood, so talk about close! On mornings he had school, if things were not being accomplished as they should, the threat of not being able to go to school was plenty to get things into gear.
From counting to colors to letters to writing to shapes to READING, Hayden has learned more than I thought a preschooler could! He doesn't really like to talk about what he does at school, which is totally normal for his age, but just by watching him and listening to him, we know he's learning amazing things.
H is not heading to kindergarten in the fall. He turns 5 in September and so he's a couple months shy of the cutoff. But, we'd rather him be old for his class than young, so it'll be better in the long run. He doesn't seem to realize that most of his friends will be going to kindergarten, I am thankful for that.
I am still in the process of deciding what to do for him this fall. I am hoping to be working soon (anything out there in the Gilbert/Chandler area?!?) which will mean daycare. Once work is found, daycare is next on the list with a preschool/pre-k integrated in.
I thought this would be a more emotional post. I was on the brink of tears leaving Ms. Stacey's today. I think she was too. Our family has just been so blessed to send Hayden (oh ya, here's the water works) to such an AMAZING teacher. Luckily, she lives very close, we may just have to pay a couple of visits to her this summer. :)
